Born in Warrenton, Oregon, Elizabeth Miner trained with Jeanne Peterson and Barbara Remington, as well as at the School of American Ballet and San Francisco Ballet School. She danced with Miami City Ballet prior to joining San Francisco Ballet in 1997, and was promoted to soloist in 2004. Miner has danced a variety of lead roles including Sylvia in Morris’ Sylvia; the Grand Pas de Deux Ballerina, Snow Queen, and Sugar Plum Fairy in Tomasson’s Nutcracker; the Enchanted Princess, Fairy of Serenity, Fairy of Playfulness, and Sapphire Fairy in Tomasson’s The Sleeping Beauty; the pas de cinq in Tomasson’s Giselle; an acrobat in Tomasson’s Romeo & Juliet; and Cupid in Tomasson/Possokhov's Don Quixote. Her repertory also includes Ashton’s Symphonic Variations; Balanchine’s Symphony in C, Divertimento No. 15, and “Emeralds”; Bintley’s The Dance House; Lubovitch’s “…smile with my heart” and Elemental Brubeck; Makarova’s Paquita; Martins’ The Waltz Project; Morris’ Maelstrom and A Garden, Tudor’s Gala Performance; and Wheeldon’s Continuum, Quaternary, and Rush, among others. Miner has created roles in Adam’s A rose by any other name, Morris’ Joyride, Tomasson’s 7 for Eight, and Welch’s Naked.
